Tips on Choosing Fake Nails

Fake nails can be very beautiful, natural looking, and elegant depending on the type and your personal style. Choosing to have fake nails and the specifics of them, however, can be overwhelming, confusing and even frustrating if you end up picking the wrong ones. It is important to take several things into consideration and know your options before you dive into a salon chair and tell them to go wild.

The biggest thing you need to consider when getting fake nails is your lifestyle. Fake nails range from active or short lengths to mega-long, claw-like lengths. If you are a mother of four with a busy schedule, a typing job and buttons to fasten for your kids, you aren’t likely to want those claw-like lengths, no matter how great they may look to you. Alternatively, if you don’t own anything with a button, have no trouble with day-to-day activities and love the look of long nails, you are of course free to choose those. Just remember as a general rule that everything gets at least a little bit harder with fake nails on – it’s up to you to decide if your life can handle that adjustment period.

Another thing to consider about getting fake nails is that of what they should look like. Do you want them to be very appropriate to your skin tone and elegant style, or do you not mind if they look a little fake as long as they’re loud and fun? Many women choose a very short style with a French tip for a versatile look, but others like a very loud solid color on theirs for a more fun style. Consider your wardrobe, daily activities and personal preferences when you go in. And always try to have a plan for what you want. Often, women go into a salon asking advice and come out with something they neither wanted or can function in – having a plan can help solve this problem for you. Ask your friends who have similar lifestyles or do some research online.
